
Elesha Horton
(M.S. Ed, BCBA, LBA)
Elesha is a dedicated behavior analyst with a passion for creating meaningful change in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Diversities from Henderson State University in Arkansas. During her undergraduate years, she provided direct support to adults with developmental disabilities, fostering her commitment to the field.
Elesha later pursued a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education from Hunter College, City University of New York. Her clinical training includes experience at a center that utilizes the Carbone method, where she supported students in a 1:1 setting, honing her skills in evidence-based interventions. Elesha completed her BCBA coursework at Florida Institute of Technology.
Throughout her career, Elesha has focused on empowering families by addressing critical communication, adaptive living, and social skill development. After earning her master’s degree, she worked directly with families, emphasizing individualized care to meet their unique needs.
Currently, Elesha is the Managing BCBA at Riverbend Pediatric Therapy, where she leads with a focus on assent-based treatment. During her time in New Orleans, she presented a poster on promoting safe sexual behavior in adolescents with autism, showcasing her dedication to addressing nuanced and vital topics within the field. Elesha is also an active member of the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Association.
Her professional philosophy centers on fostering independence and meaningful engagement for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities across all areas of their lives.
Elesha is in a Mardi Gras dance krewe, has two dogs that she adores, and loves attending Jazz Fest.
